The latest details and spoilers for "Supergirl" season 2 will feature Jimmy Olsen as the superhero Guardian and the reactions of the "Arrowverse" characters in meeting the Girl of Steel.
A new DC hero will be introduced in "Supergirl" season 2 as James "Jimmy" Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) will be suiting up to become the show's version of Guardian, complete with battle armor and shield.
Executive producer Andre Kreisberg told TV Guide that Jimmy no longer has to stand aside or play sidekick and decides to be the vigilante Guardian in order to protect National City, and without a doubt Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist).
In the comics, James Harper took on the mantle of Guardian, who is police officer donning a a blue and gold armored costume and carried a shield reminiscent of a policeman’s badge to exact vigilante justice against criminals he was unable to prosecute by traditional legal means.
Kara in the show will not approve of Jimmy's decision to be a vigilante, so James ends up asking Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) for help in making the suite since he is now working with the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), and comes up with excuses to his superiors and Supergirl in order to hide Jimmy's secret.
In other news, Kreisberg shared how the "Arroverse" characters will react to seeing Supergirl during the epic four night crossover with "Arrow", "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow".
Kreisberg told ComicBook that there will a lot of fun and he gave specific reactions to certain characters like Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz), John Diggle (David Ramsey) and Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell).
Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) already met Kara during there crossover episode and they get along well. Sara will likely have a little crush on her, while Diggle as always will be freaked out and shock of what he sees.
Oliver on the other hand, is likely to keep his distance when it comes to Supergirl as his suspicious attitude will have him having a hard time trusting her to which Kara will ask Barry if he does not like her, to which the latter response that is how Oliver treats everyone.
In addition, "Arrow" cast member Rick Gonzales stated that his character Wild Dog will be appearing in the four night crossover and will have a strong dislike on metahumans.
