Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mi Note 2 soon but there is no price that has been confirmed yet and one analyst has an idea about how much it will cost.
The company has not yet announced an official price for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 which will be an upgraded version of its predecessor. Many have also expected that the release date was set for earlier this year but several months have already passed and the device is still a no show.
Analyst Pan Jiutang from China claims that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 could be priced around $600 or at least 4000 Yuan, Android Headlines has learned. Xiaomi has been known for providing affordable yet high-end smartphones and tablets in the past few years and their newest device could be one of the most expensive ones yet.
Jiutang could also be just referring to the base model of the Mi Note 2 which means that the higher-end models will cost even more. With the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 destroyed, the company could be looking at a winner for the phablet category.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Specs and Release Date
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to have a 5.7-inch screen with QHD resolution which is expected for high-end smartphones, Android Geeks reported. Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset with a generous 6GB RAM.
Unfortunately, the phone will only run the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow version out of the box while the Android 7.0 Nougat version is expected through an update probably in early 2017. It will make use of the company's MIUI 8 user interface skin for the operating system.
There are also rumors of a dual camera setup for the rear end similar to Apple's new iPhone 7 device. No confirmation has been given from Xiaomi yet but it could come true considering that it has already been done by the Cupertino-based company.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 could be released by the end of 2016 at the earliest or within Q1 2017 at the latest. The final specs and price are expected to be unveiled once the company announces the new phablet.
