When the "Last of Us" was first released, gamers were amazed by its excellent pacing, drama, acting, and storytelling. Not long after its release, those who became fans can't wait for the sequel of the game, but they can't help but wonder why it's taking too long.
The "Last of Us 2" is confirmed by Naughty Dog and is currently in the development stage. Fans are now anticipating another immersive and emotional storytelling from the creator of the game, Neil Druckmann.
The plan to make the sequel to "TLOU" is already in talks for a long time, but the reason for the delay to push the project into development is because of the team of Naughty Dog is working on "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." Naughty Dog and the game's developers is already brainstorming for the ideas that they could possibly put into the game. Currently, the conceptualization of the ideas for the game is already being set. New characters are going to be introduced and Joel and Ellie are still finding their way to keep going and survive. However, many theories are popping up to whether the protagonists for the sequel will be different this time around, Parent Herald reported.
A small team from Naughty Dog was already in the works of brainstorming the game's game design and characters. They were pulled out of the project to work on the dlc's for "Uncharted 4" instead.
In addition, Druckmann also said in an interview from The Frame that the sequel for the "The Last Of Us" release should not be expected until 2021. He also mentions that he can only give some information about the progress of the game within the next 2 years. The team behind the development is still working for "Uncharted 4" more upcoming dlc's,
While the status of the game is far from being concrete, others are speculating that Joel and Ellie would not be the only main characters of the story. Druckmann also said that he wants a new kind of diversity in the story, where reports say that a new LGBT character will be featured as a secondary character.
