In an unbelievable turn of events, LeBron James missed two free throws during the final seconds of their game against the Houston Rockets on Sunday, causing the Cavaliers to fall short in their bid to win past the equally aggressive team, Sports Yahoo reported.
James was an unable to lift the team, struggling from the line and not making any difference in his free throw attempts. According to Cleveland, James came to an unbelievable stats of 3-11 in the free throw line. The Cavs were down 1 point with 4.2 seconds left, when James was fouled and made his way to the line. Unfortunately, he missed both causing Harden to scramble for the ball, a chance to hold play the game with the ball away from the Cavs.
James and the Cavs moved past the Golden State Warriors with fellow MVP contender Stephen Curry, prior to the Cavs loss to the Indiana Pacers. In a heartfelt tweet from James, he said, "I didn't come through for my teammates. I tripped the game up at the FT line.. I didn't come through, It won't happen again."
A skirmish also happened between James and Beverley when the latter attempted to foul James on his drive to the basket. The two were slapped with technical foul and Beverley earned a personal foul for charging LeBron's way a little too late. Few minutes later, James was the center of attention for his tight defense against Houston Rocket's star James Harden, and apparently, the latter did not welcome that kind of a defensive play.
Harden, on the other hand, was served a flagrant foul after an attempted groin kick that he downplayed during the game. The Cavaliers now sits at No. 4 at the Eastern Conference with a 37 - 24 stats, while the Rockets enjoy their spot at No. 3 at the Western Conference with a 41 - 18 stats.
