Chris Jericho will still be making his presence felt in the upcoming Universal Title match between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell on October 30. According to latest rumors floating around, the six-time world champion will be assigned as the special referee in the match.
Jericho, who is currently playing the role as KO's buddy, apparently will still have a huge role in the match he was originally slated to compete in.
Before Finn Balor's injury at SummerSlam, WWE wanted a triple-threat Hell in a Cell match featuring Balor vs. Owens vs. Jericho for the Universal Title.
Leading up to last week's RAW, WWE creative once again flirted with the idea of putting Y2J in the title match, but eventually dropped him to make look like a personal match between Owens and Rollins.
Many pro wrestling experts view Jericho's role in the Hell in a Cell title match as huge steps towards hyping up a rumored Survivor Series showdown between the Prized Fighter and the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla in Toronto on November 20.
More WWE Rumors:
-Speaking of Jericho, he and the Miz are expected to get a title shot soon largely because of their performance on the respective brand. Y2J has been the most entertaining character on RAW the past few months on the mic and in the squared circle, while the Miz is having a career revival as an edgy villain on SmackDown Love.
-HBK, Stone Cold, Sting, Kurt Angle and the Undertaker are just some of a long list of WWE Legends who could make their entry into the Royal Rumble 2017 - which is anticipated to be the biggest in the 30-year old history of the PPV Event.
-Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin are the wrestlers more likely to appear in the battle royale, largely because they are Texan natives. Shawn Michaels won the WWE championship title match against Sycho Sid, while Stone Cold captured first of a record three Royal Rumble wins the last time Royal Rumble held in San Antonio in 1997.
