"NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 6 Episode 17 airs Monday, March 9, on CBS. Fans have to wait for another week. There is no new episode this week, so viewers will be taken back to "Deep Trouble." Meanwhile, spoiler reports indicate a deeper look into Callen's backstory.
"Deep Trouble" is "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 5 Episode 24, the action-packed fifth season finale of this spin-off series. The next new episode (617) is about kidnapped soldiers and Sam's return.
"While the team investigates the death of one of three Afghanistan soldiers who are training in the U.S., they discover two other soldiers are missing and must find them before they're forced to reveal classified military operations to their captors," reads the "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 6 Episode 17 synopsis.
"Also, Sam is back to work but his team worries it may be too soon, and Callen realizes he has very little in common with his partner," the CBS-released synopsis continues. NCIS LA 6x17 was written by Jordana Lewis Jaffe and directed by Eric Laneuville.
Meanwhile, executive producer John Peter Kousakis is giving out minor spoilers for NCIS LA fans on Twitter. He says in a tweet that Callen (Chris O'Donnell) "young and old" is the major interest in "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 6 Episode 18.
"Watch for flashback in E618 Beginning of a significant relationship revealed (sic)," Kousakis said in a separate tweet. He also pointed out NCIS LA 6x18 will be aired in April, which implies another mini-break in March.
For now, Kousakis is encouraging his Twitter followers to not miss "Deep Trouble," saying it is "as good as the first time." Viewers expect "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 6 to air at least seven more episodes from Mar. 9.
