New details and possible spoilers for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" will feature a sequel in the works and appearances in "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Iron Man 4".
"In the Heart of the Sea" star Tom Holland revealed several new details for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" during a promo for his upcoming film, "The Lost City of Z" along with his co-star Robert Pattinson. Holland told WWD that a possible sequel for "Homecoming" could be in the works very soon and even a new villain for the movie.
Although there are no announcement yet regarding "Spider-Man: Homecoming's" teaser trailer, it appears that Sony and Marvel are already pleased with what has been made. and Holland's portrayal of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in "Captain America: Civil War" have been reinvigorated with interest by old and young movie goers and Marvel fans.
Aside from the possible Spider-Man sequel, Holland also discuss a possible inclusion of Spider-Man in the next Avengers film, "Avengers: Infinity War" as he told Variety that Spidey's appearance in the film is "still up in the air" and negotiations are on the way.
Although Holland is still not sure whether his character will join the Avengers in their fight with Thanos (Josh Brolin) during the events of "Infinity War", fans believed that Marvel Studios will make it happen, after all Spider-Man became an Avenger in the comics.
In other news, several rumors are making rounds regarding a possible "Iron Man 4" film for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"Avengers" star Robert Downey Jr. tweeted a photo teasing a new project with several well known figures in Marvel Studios. Joining him on the photo are the "Avengers: Infinity War" directors Anthony and Joe Russo, Holland, "Iron Man" director and co-star Jon Favreau, Roy Choi and Marvel president Kevin Feige.
It was back in 2014, that Downey confirmed that "Iron Man 4" will happen, however, there have been rumors and speculations that the production of the film was in jeopardy and chances are the sequel will not likely happen anytime soon.
However, with the new project being teased it seems that "Iron Man 4" could still have a chance and what makes it interesting is that Holland is included in project. Holland's presents could indicate that he will likely reprise his role as Peter in "Iron Man 4", knowing the unique student/mentor relationship that both characters have in the MCU.
It is hinted that Downey will return as Tony Stark/Iron Man in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and will likely ask him to join the team in the film.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will be release on July 7, 2017.
