Sevilla, the reigning back-to-back Europa League champions, is currently at the third spot of the Spanish top flight table after going on a two-game winning run.

In their most recent match, Los Rojiblancos nipped newly-promoted side Leganes, 3-2, on the road at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque last Saturday, as per AS English.

The Sevillistas netted the only goal in the first half with a 25th-minute header from attacking midfielder Franco Vazquez off an assist from Argentine striker Luciano Vietto.

Sevilla then doubled their lead in the 58th as French midfielder Samir Nasri buried a close range left-footer that went past the defense of Leganes keeper Jon Ander Serantes.

However, two straight goals from Los Pepineros, courtesy of midfielders David Timor and Alexander Szymanowski in the 67th and 69th minutes respectively, equalized the match.

Still, head coach Jorge Sampaoli's team prevailed as substitute midfielder Pablo Sarabia netted the winner five minutes before full-time, giving Sevilla their first road win in 23 games.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid whitewashed cellar-dwellers Granada, 7-1, at the Vicente Calderon Stadium also last Saturday, BBC Sport reported.

Granada actually scored the first goal of the 8-goal affair with midfielder Isaac Cuenca hitting a right-footer from just outside the penalty box off a pass by teammate Tito.

From there, the Atleti floodgates have opened starting with a hat trick from Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco in the 34th, 45th, and 61st minutes.

It was followed by a brace from Argentine midfielder Nicolas Gaitan, who scored in the 63rd and 81st minutes, giving Los Colchoneros a 5-0 lead with only nine minutes left before full-time.

Angel Correa and Tiago Mendes sealed the win with goals in the 85th and 87th as Atleti remained undefeated this season.
