Chinese hacking team Pangu has again received fresh signals from Apple to finally release the iOS 10 jailbreak. The tech giant has deployed Beta number 5 of iOS 10.1 and stopped signing both iOS 10.0.1 and iOS 9.3.5, and the moves could prompt the devs to finalize work on the next public jailbreak.
Just days after the issuance of iOS 10.1 Beta 4, developers were again given access to Beta 5 of the latest mobile operating system version from the tech giant. And as the same time, Apple is no longer signing iOS versions 10.0.1 and 9.3.5. The latter means that there's no turning back for those who jumped to iOS 10 too soon.
Specifically for the jailbreak fans, they are locked out from the modified iOS universe. As Apple no longer allows downgrading from iOS 10, the best option for those already in the latest platform but want to jailbreak is to wait out. How long, no one knows for now.
But the consensus in the jailbreak community is that a JB tool is just waiting to fly anytime. In the past months, several proofs came out to indicate that iOS 10 can be jailbroken. Luca Todesco demoed not only once that Apple's mobile OS can pried open for the delight of jailbreak fans.
Todesco, however, is not expected to provide a working and untethered public jailbreak and the same applies to fellow dev iH8sn0w. The only credible source of the next jailbreak is none other than Team Pangu and that came from Cydia creator Jay Freeman or more popularly known as Saurik.
In a recent update, Saurik said that his check with the jailbreak makers yielded one glaring result - that it is the progress achieved so far by Team Pangu is likely to lead to a jailbreak release. No other parties come close as far as work on the iOS 10 jailbreak is concerned, added the Cydia creator.
Yet what's keeping the Chinese devs from unpacking the gift that jailbreak fans have been waiting for? Many are convinced that Pangu is close to completing the next jailbreaking tool but will only finalize everything once Apple has let out the official iOS 10.1.
It is believed that an iOS 10 jailbreak based on version 10.1 will be of better benefit to the community - the unlocking tool will last longer. And as the OS is now on Beta 5, unleashing the final cut is likely to happen real soon. Now that's like saying that an iOS 10 jailbreak release date can be expected in the next few weeks.
