KBS 2TV's "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" will go to the Philippines for a special vacation trip. It is said that the entire cast and staff members will leave for Cebu, Philippines on Oct. 21 to celebrate the success of the drama.
"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds," which starred Park Bo-Gum and Kim Yoo-Jung, ended up with impressive viewership ratings of 25.3 percent on Oct. 18, Tuesday. Following its successful run, it was revealed that the show's stars and staff members will stay in Cebu, Philippines for five days and four nights.
The upcoming Philippines vacation was given by the KBS network for the show's remarkable viewership ratings, according to local newsoutlet Sports Donga, as cited by Han Cinema.
"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" posted strong in viewership ratings ever since it premiered on Aug. 22. Without a single product placement, it has made a profit through advertising and license exports in several Southeast Asian countries.
Just recently, writer Kim Min Jung sat down for an interview where she talked about the drama's extreme popularity. She also discussed Park's portrayal of Crown Prince Lee Yeong.
"I began [the drama] with curiosity and expectation for how Park Bo Gum would do with a character that is dispassionate and cold," Soompi quoted writer Kim as saying. "To be honest, I was worried at first, but we were overjoyed that we took the chance because he did such a great job."
Writer Kim added that the "Reply 1988" star is so obliging and kind that they thought it would be awkward for him to be fierce-tempered and to yell at the female servants in the palace. Much to their surprise, Park naturally transformed into Crown Prince Lee Yeong.
