"The Last of Us" brought an exciting thrill to gamers with its unusual combination of a realistic story and impressive graphics as well pertinent sound effects, leaving gamers with unending desire for "The Last of Us 2."
The game's developer Naughty Dog recently unveiled that the game sequel would be back although it did not disclose other details. As a result, the direction that the sequel will take is not clear, Game Rant reported.
Creative director of "The Last of Us" Neil Druckmann was quoted by Games Radar as saying, "We were brainstorming ideas for 'The Last of Us 2' with new characters; ideas for 'TLOU 2' with Joel and Ellie; ideas for a sci-fi game; ideas for a fantasy game, and building prototypes for each one of those ideas." He said that they had to delay the final plot so that they would work on "Uncharted 4."
With the release of "Uncharted 4," fans are now convinced that Naughty Dog is working on "The Last of Us 2." Although the game developer has not revealed the particulars, speculations revolving around the possible plots for the sequel are vast.
The lead character Ellie is speculated to come out as a gay individual in "The Last of Us 2." The game developers will also allegedly introduce more conflicts and diverse characters in the sequel.
It is rumored that the second installment of the franchise will take gamers to a worse apocalyptic end than that of "The Last of Us." The other possible plot presumed suggests a more refined and advanced setting that will introduce a timeline jump as the characters of Joel and Ellie are retained.
While theories of the possible direction, which the sequel will take, circulate the internet, fans are yet to hear from Naughty Dog. However, the developer is expected to officially announce "The Last of Us 2" at the E3 event next year. To the disappointment of fans, the sequel is highly speculated to debut after two years in late 2018.
Although every detail seems obscure, "The Last of Us 2" enthusiasts are hoping that the upcoming sequel will be available on both Xbox One and PS4. Watch a fan-made trailer of the game here:
