“Dating Naked,” the British naked reality dating show, aired over VH1, premiered its third season on June 29. It is apparently one of the inspirations behind “Adam sucht Eva,” a bizarre TV dating show in Germany.
The show, which is “Adam searches for Eve” in English, features seven male and female celebrities and 11 regular contestants who seek to find their perfect match. Among the contestants are former athletes, a model and singer, who, together with the other contestants were sent to a paradise location in the South Seas, reported Daily Mail.
The show combines the dating aspects of similar reality shows like “The Bachelor” with survival reality shows such as “Survivor” by having the contestants go fishing, cooking or playing games to win each other’s heart. The teaser for the show hinted the new season who be “more exciting, emotional and conflicted.”
The island encourages “intimate togetherness” as the contestant get to know one another better sans luxury and clothes. Mirror, which published stills from “Adam sacht Eva” without the black bars covering the female breast, unlike what Daily Mail did, commented the show should have been titled “Nude Love Island” or “Love Island X-Rated” for excessive skin exposure scenes.
The British daily pointed out that constant nudity is a prerequisite to be part of the show, but noticed the contestants are all happy to oblige and follow the rules. Mirror, however, pixelated the groin areas of the contestants.
It noted that daily tasks, such as carrying open coconut shells filled with water and washing one’s clothes, also done in other reality shows exhibit a seductive twist if done au naturel.
