On Oct. 27, Apple announced its new MacBook Pro with a new OLED Touch Bar and Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The device comes with a elegant design and better features over its predecessor models.
The most evident change that can be seen on the new MacBook Pro 2016 is that its traditional function keys have been replaced with Touch Bar, placed in the first row. Based on what user is doing on the device, the Touch Bar can provide relevant options to the user.
From the physical point of view, the new MacBook Pro 2016 devices are lighter and cheaper than its predecessor. The MacBook Pro 2016 comes in two variants featuring 13-inch and 15-inch display. The smaller screen variant comes with 14.9 mm thickness and weighs up to 3 pounds. On the other hand, the larger screen variant comes with is 15.5 mm thickness and weighs around 4 pounds, CNet reported.
For instance, if the user is listening to music, the Touch Bar can provide playback control options. If the user is viewing a photo, it can show up options for editing it.
MacBook Pro 2016 Specifications, Features, Price
The MacBook Pro with 13-inch screen comes with dual-core Intel Core i5d and 8 GB of RAM. Its 256 GB storage variant is priced at $1,499 and whereas the 512 GB model is available for $1,999.
There are non-Touch Bar models in 128 GB and 256 GB storage options. These models cost $1,299 and $1,499, respectively. These models do not feature Touch ID sensor.
All the variants of 13-inch MacBook Pro feature Intel Iris Graphics 550. Its Touch Bar models have four ThunderBolt 3 slots whereas the non-Touch Bar models come with two ThunderBolt 3 slots.
The MacBook Pro with 15-inch screen is powered by quad-core Core i7 and 16 GB of RAM. It comes in two storage options of $256 GB and 512 GB that are respectively priced at $2,399 and $2,799.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro 2016 feature Touch Bar and Touch ID sensor. Other features include Radeon Pro 450 with 2 GB of memory and four ThunderBolt 3 slots.
The Touch ID fingerprint sensor placed at the right corner of Touch Bar. The sensor can be used for unlocking it as well as for making online payments with Apple Pay, Business Insider reported.
