Blackjacks may have to wait longer for a 2NE1 comeback as the recording of a new album had to be paused.
Meanwhile, CL and Dara are currently busy with their respective solo appearances. CL is working her way in the US and will hold her US and Canada tour, while Dara is a judge in a reality TV show in the Philippines.
The two will reportedly wrap up their solo projects by the end of the year. The two will be ready to work on a new album in 2017. Below are the reasons why 2NE1 comeback is delayed indefinitely.
CL North American tour kicks off
2NE1 leader CL kicked off her North American tour in New York City on Oct. 29, Saturday. The "HELLO BI+CHES TOUR" 2016 will be held in a total of nine cities in the US and Canada.
According to Korea Herald, the concert opened with an introductory audio visual presentation of CL's personal history, from her childhood to her musical debut and the present. Then the rapper exploded onto the stage with "Fire," one of the greatest hits of 2NE1, re-arranged for a solo performance.
The performance line up was a combination of re-arrangements of 2NE1 hits such as "Can't Nobody," "I Am the Best," "I Don't Care"and "Falling in Love," and solo works by CL like "The Baddest Female," "MTBD," "Dr. Pepper" and "Lifted."
BLACKPINK comeback
Aside from CL's solo tour in the states, YG's new generation girl group BLACKPINK just dropped their two new singles. Different from their explosive and charismatic songs "Boombayah" and "Whistle," "Playing With Fire" and "Stay" are mellow and showed off the vocal prowess of the girls.
YG Entertainment is busy promoting BLACKPINK for it to be at par with the status that 2NE1 reached during their reign as one of the queens of Kpop.
