Leonard Nimoy's funeral happened on Sunday morning and according to reports, it was an intimate farewell for the actor that has been idolized by many as he played the role of Spock in the original Star Trek series.
Chris Pine together with J.J Abrams and Zachary Quinto were some of the almost 300 people who paid their respect to the star who passed away on Feb. 27. Nimoy died due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at the age of 83.
According to E! News when they spoke to Rabbi John L. Rosove, the one who delivered the eulogy at the service, the guests were all part of Nimoy's life and there was no one invited who did not take part of the life of the famous actor.
Rosove shares, "There was nobody there who didn't mean something to Susan and Leonard or to their children and grandchildren. His love, appreciation, respect and gratitude for her transformed him and enabled him to begin his life anew."
The eulogy also included the life of the actor both as part of the show business and also whenever he was not on the spotlight. The family of Nimoy actually posted a statement on Facebook after the ceremony thanking those who loved and gave kind words to Nimoy.
The statement adds, "We lost a wonderful, talented, sweet man, a great father, husband, grandpa, and friend. Again thank you for all the love and good wishes."
37-year-old Quinto also talked in the funeral and he was very thankful for taking over the role of the young Spock. People magazine said that Quinto shared Nimoy was there and was helpful for him to understand the whole role he was given.
However, Nimoy's co-star William Shatner was not able to attend and it was unfortunate because he had another commitment, which was at the 58th International Red Cross Ball in Florida. But Shatner's daughters were able to attend in place of him.
