A recent opinion poll suggested on Nov. 1, Tuesday, that the Republican nominee Donald Trump has gained a slight lead over his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 U.S. presidential elections. However, this has not perturbed Clinton, who reports say, has already began preparations for her massive victory celebrations.
Clinton is said to have planned a gala show of fireworks on the Election Night over the Hudson River, the New York Post reported quoting sources. The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) as well as the law enforcement authorities has been be prepared for a colossal display of fireworks off the Javits Center in Manhattan, where Clinton and her running mate Tim Kane will be present with their supports for the vote count on Nov. 8 night.
The sources further said that the aerial explosions would continue for two minutes, with the victory celebration allowed to commence as early as 9:30 p.m., just half-hour after polling closes in New York. Incidentally, Clinton's plan to illuminate the sky was prepared prior to FBI's revelation last week that it would review a set of emails, which may be pertinent to the now-closed Democratic presidential nominee's clandestine email server scandal.
The FBI's disclosure came in the wake of the discovery of a trove of emails left by Clinton's top Indian-origin aide Huma Abedin on a laptop computer. The emails pertain to her estranged husband and disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner, who is being probed for online communication of sexual text with a teenage girl from North Carolina.
Meanwhile, just a week before the Election Day, a new poll survey suggested that Trump has achieved a one-point lead in the U.S Presidential election, The Times of India reported. However, most other polls still show Clinton leading the race, albeit the gap between the rivals is narrowing with each passing day.
As supporters of both Clinton and Trump engaged in washing dirty linen in the public, the purported ''October Surprise'' is turning nastier before the Election Day. In a nutshell, currently the U.S. election has turned out to be an ugly fight between the organization skills of Hillary's camp versus the passion of people supporting Trump.
