None of the smartphone OEMs have stared Android 7.0 Nougat roll out. Speculations are rife that the Android Nougat is imminent for Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and Galaxy Note 5.
Android 7.0 Nougat Imminent for Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Note 5?
When Samsung had announced, Galaxy Note 7 in August this year, the company had hinted that the phablet would be getting the Nougat update by this month. However, the South Korean tech giant had to discontinue the Galaxy Note 7 as several cases of battery explosion surfaced from various parts of the world.
In October, the Snapdragon and Exynos variants of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were spotted being tested with Nougat update. Hence, it seems that Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will be the first smartphones to test the new software.
Samsung fans had expected that Nougat update for S7 and S7 Edge would be available in October. The Nougat update for these flagship devices was expected to bring along more Always-On Display features, but both the S7 models have already received without Nougat update.
This shows that after the debacle of Galaxy Note 7, Samsung may have deliberately delayed the release of Android 7.0 Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Samsung will not want owners of S7 and S7 Edge users to suffer from performance issues by releasing an unstable Nougat update.
The Android 7.0 Nougat update seems to be imminent for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It is likely to roll out either by the end of this month or in the next month. The Nougat update will also include Grace UX to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones.
The Galaxy Note 5 users in South Korea and China are now enjoying the beta version of Android 7.0 Nougat. Hence, the Note 5 is also expected to get Nougat update either in this month or in December, The BitBag reported.
Since Samsung will focus on releasing Android 7.0 Nougat update to 2017 flagships by the end of the year, it is likely that Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ users will receive the update in the first quarter of 2017.

As far as Android 7.1 Nougat update is concerned, Google is expected to release the update for its Nexus devise by next month, Ars Technica reported. Hence, Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Note 5 are expected to get it by first quarter of 2017. In the second quarter of 2017, the 7.1 Nougat update is expected to be available for Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+.
