Ku Hye-Sun, 31, graced the cover of Women's Joongang November issue. In the accompanying interview, the Hallyu star opened up about newlywed life with Ahn Jae-Hyun.
Ahn and Ku, who met while working together on KBS 2TV's "Blood," officially became an item in April 2015. In mid-May, the couple registered their marriage at the Gangnam region office.
Instead of holding an extravagant wedding ceremony, Ahn and Ku donated the wedding asset to the pediatrics ward at the Severance Hospital situated in Sinchon-dong, Seodaemun District, South Korea. The couple apparently wanted to spend their big day in a better and more meaningful way.
"We are not special people who did tremendous things, so it is an exaggeration to say we donated," Ku told Women's Joongang, as cited by The Kpop Herald. "I just see it as two small people trying to make a small change in the world."
Ku then talked about her married life with Ahn. Even though it does not look like it, the 29-year-old actor apparently works really hard.
"Conversations with my husband could probably reach space," Ku said. "Unlike me, he's very insightful with many thoughts and he's someone I can communicate with."
Meanwhile, Ku, who is best known as Geum Jan-Di in 2009's "Boys Over Flowers," will star next in the upcoming Chinese drama tentatively titled "The Legendary Tycoon." She will play Hu Bi Yu, a wife of a famous Chinese film magnate.
"We had worked with Ku Hye Sun for the drama 'Absolute Darling' in 2003, and she had left a good impression on us," the production company said in a statement obtained by Kpop Fighting. "Ku Hye Sun's professionalism has left us with much confidence in her, so we decided to work with her again."
Based on the life of a film industry tycoon Run Run Shaw, "The Legendary Tycoon" stars Zhang Han as Gu Yan Mei, Chen Joe as Mei Gui, Song Yi as Qu Meng and Tan Kevin as Gu Ruo Xia.
