Celta Vigo has been undefeated in five of their last six matches to move up to the ninth spot of the current Spanish top flight table. The team is five points above the bottom three relegation zone and two points below the last Europa League qualifying spot for next season.

Head coach Eduardo Berizzo's boys survived a late onslaught from reeling contenders Las Palmas to settle to a 3-3 draw on the road at the Gran Canaria Stadium last Sunday, as per ESPN.

Os Célticos netted the first three goals of the contest to zoom ahead to a 3-0 lead at the halftime break. Danish midfielder Daniel Wass opened the scoring right in the sixth minute via a free kick while Spanish striker Iago Aspas netted a brace in the 14th and 21st minutes.

However, the hosts came back roaring in the second half, scoring their own three goals to equalize as they took advantage of a 10-man Celta Vigo squad when defender Sergi Gomez was sent off on the 65th.

Meanwhile, Valencia was held to a 1-1 draw by lowly team Deportivo La Coruna at the Riazor Stadium on Monday, via Daily Mail Online.

Turkish midfielder Emre Colak started the scoring for Deportivo in the first half injury time to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at the break.

Valencia found the equalizer in the 56th minute with a close-range right-footer from Spanish striker Rodrigo.

It was the third winless performance for head coach Cesare Prandelli's squad in their last four matches as the team remained at the 14th place in the overall standings.
