According to the official synopsis, Damon's new mission takes him to Texas as he is appointed to find the mystical artifact. In the new episode, Damon and Peter Maxwell collide and there is a shocking revelation for Damon.
Elsewhere, Alaric and Stefan find out the origins of the force they are facing.
"Tasked with finding a mysterious artifact, Damon's latest mission takes him to Texas where a violent run-in with Peter Maxwell leads to a surprising revelation. Meanwhile, Stefan and Alaric uncover the origins of the mysterious force they're up against; and Matt returns to the fray after his past and present collide in an unexpected way," reads the synopsis via TV Guide.
Meanwhile, the cast is ready to bid goodbye to the show and Ian Somerhalder talked to PEOPLE about this cool era.
"It will be quite an incredible feat to shoot that last scene and know that we're completing almost eight years of work on a television show," Somerhalder said.
He stated he is ready to create and produce more stories his wife Nikki Reed.
The actor mentioned that he is ready to put his energies into other projects. "It's been nearly a decade. It's time to turn over new leaves and really put our energies into other stuff.
