Xiaomi has announced Redmi 4 Prime alongside Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A. The Redmi 4 Prime has arrived to replace the highly popular Redmi 3S Prime. Here is a comparison between Redmi 4 Prime and 3S Prime on the basis of their specs, features and price.
Redmi 4 Prime vs Redmi 3S Prime Comparison
Design and Display
Both the smartphones sport metal unibody design and come in color choices of dark gray, silver and gold. The Redmi 3S Prime measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs 144 grams whereas the Redmi 4 Prime measures 141.3 x 69.6 x 8.9 mm and weighs 156 grams. Both the phones sport a very similar design.
The Redmi 3S Prime and 4 Prime both feature 5-inch IPS LCD screen. However, the Redmi 3S Prime supports HD resolution whereas the Redmi 4 Prime offers full HD resolution.
Chipset, Storage and RAM
The Redmi 4 Prime is fueled by Snapdragon 625 chipset whereas the 3S Prime has Snapdragon 430 chipset. Both smartphones have 3 GB of RAM and internal storage of 32 GB. Both devices support up to 256 GB microSD card as well as second SIM through hybrid SIM slot.
Camera, Software and Other Features
The Redmi 4 Prime has a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture lens with features like phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. The Redmi 3S Prime has f/2.0 aperture lens 13-megapixel shooter enabled with phase detection autofocus and single LED flash.
Both the smartphones feature 5-megapixel selfie shooter with full HD video shooting support. Also, both devices run on MIUI 8 flavored Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and have fingerprint scanners on their rear panel.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime and 3S Prime both support VoLTE, 4G and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ connectivity. The Redmi 4 Prime has Bluetooth v4.2 whereas Redmi 3S Prime has v4.1 Bluetooth, NDTV reported.
Battery and Price
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime and 3S Prime are packed with same sized battery of 4,100 mAh that support fast charging feature, GSM Arena reported.
The Redmi 4 Prime has been launched with a pricing of CNY 899 ($133). The Redmi 3S Prime was also launched with the same pricing. The Redmi 3S Prime is expected to receive price cut as Redmi 4 has arrived with the same price tag.
