The latest details for "Overwatch" will feature new maps, "Arcade Mode" and Sombra's story trailer and abilities in the game.
Blizzard Entertainment has finally revealed the new DLC character Sombra in "Overwatch" during Blizzcon 2016 as gaming fans had a glimpse of her story and abilities in the game.
Just like the information given to the Sombra ARGs, the character is a latina woman, a terrorist and very talented hacker. She has been hacking since she was a child and has worked the Los Muertos. As she grew up, Sombra became addicted to hacking, but was eventually caught. She upgraded her hardware and surgically implanted them in her body, this gave Sombra several abilities such cloaking and hacking using physical touch.
Blizzard also released a short cinematic movie titled "Infiltration" were in Sombra is now working with Talon members Reaper and Widowmaker in assassinating Volskaya Industries’ president. Sombra is in charge of hacking and shutting down the facilities security system, as well as locating the president herself. Widowmaker was about to kill her target, but the alarm went on and Reaper had no choice but to kill her head on. As Reaper was busy fighting a new mech, Sombra chases the president and has her cornered in her office. It soon revealed that Sombra trip the alarm on purpose just to have chat with the president. Sombra blackmails the president by showing her photos of the her making deals with the Omnics in making new weapons. Sombra clearly wanted the president at her side as she has ulterior motives. Sombra reports back to Reaper and Widowmaker saying the mission was a "failure" and leave Volskaya Industries, Gamerant reported.
Aside from Sombra's backstory, Blizzard also revealed her move set in "Ovewatch" and she is equipped with a Machine pistol as her primary weapon.
Sombra's first skill is called "Hack", which enables her to control enemies to temporarily stop them from using their abilities, or hacks first aid kits to make them useless to her opponents.
Next is the "Thermoptic Camo" allows Sombra to become invisible for a short period of time, during which her speed is boosted considerably. Attacking, using offensive abilities, or taking damage disables her camouflage.
Sombra can toss around a "Translocator" beacon and teleport to where it is located, even in mid-air.
Lastly, Sombra's ultimate is "EMP" which discharges electromagnetic energy in a wide radius, destroying enemy barriers and shields and hacking all opponents caught in the blast, VG 24/7 reported.
Meanwhile, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime that "Overwatch" will be receiving new game maps and game mode very soon.
The first map is called "Oasis", a high tech city that was terraformed in the Arabian desert, while the second map is called "Eco-Point Antarctica", a cold and snowy map where in Mei was frozen in cryostasis before the events of present-day "Overwatch".
"Eco-Point Antarctica" will be used as a playable map for "Overwatch" PTR along with Sombra next week. In addition, the map is also used in the new "Arcade Mode", which features a one-on-one and three-on-three match-ups.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
