"Diablo 3" is set to receive a new content that will introduce a character class that has power over the dead. Recently, Blizzard unveiled details of an upcoming new DLC, as well as the abilities of its playable Necromancer character.
The upcoming "Diablo 3" DLC titled "Rise of the Necromancer" will introduce the mysterious Priests of Rathma, also known as necromancers. In an announcement posted on the game's official website, Blizzard shared several details about the said master of the dead and the game character's special abilities.
Commanding skeletal warriors who have risen from the dead is just one of the Necromancer's skills, as indicated in the announcement. With the said character's affinity with blood and bone, a Necromancer can also unleash a Bone Spear, as well as defeat opponents with its Corpse Explosion, Siphon Blood and Blood Rush moves.
Blizzard has even prepared two versions of the Necromancer character class specifically a male and a female hero. However, game designers are still in the early stages of developing the said characters and only unveiled the male hero during the recent Blizzcon event.
Apart from the new playable character class, the gaming company also revealed the in-game contents of its upcoming Necromancer DLC. Gamers can get two extra character slots, an in-game pet, a pennant, banner, banner sigil and a portrait frame. Meanwhile, the DLC's PC version will also include two additional stash tabs.
PC players interested in purchasing the said DLC will need to own "Diablo 3" and the game's first expansion pack "The Reaper of Souls" to enjoy the new Necromancer content. For console owners, the game's "Ultimate Evil Edition" will be a necessary base game requirement.
In other news, Blizzard announced during the 2016 Blizzcon that it will soon release a special patch to celebrate "Diablo's" 20th year anniversary. Titled "The Darkening of Tristram," the said patch will feature a remake of the original game inside "Diablo 3," according to Digital Trends.
The patch will also include a special graphics filter and some character movement restrictions. Gamers can experience the patch's nostalgic gameplay features in the coming week as it hits "Diablo 3's" public test realm.
