The topic that is mostly taboo for men has been unveiled with a twist of good news to most of them as the latest analysis pertaining to the normal size of an erect penis is roughly about 5.2 to 5.3 inches, CBS News reported.
In a similar study that measures flaccidity, the normal circumference of a flaccid penis is 3.7 inches while an erect penis has a 4.6 inch circumference, the Daily Mail reported. Men should be assured of that fact and accept that what most of them have is very normal. It is said that the fact that men always worry about the size of their penis, despite the absence of a standard size, makes them even more aware of the dilemma.
The study title "Am I Normal" aims to provide a standard set of idea on what the normal size of penis are. It will also be used to create a "nomogram," a graphical representation of penis size of different ages and race. According to CBC News, Dr. Debbie Sookman said, "As clinicians and as experts helping an individual who may come with that concern, we should start with psycho education in terms of penises being all kinds of different sizes, differing across races and that it's the vast majority of men who come concern are well within the normal range."
Another cited importance of measuring a penis was due to relationship between condom failure and penile dimensions.
A man who is diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder is one who frequently compares the size and shape of their penis to that of what they see on the internet. This kind of characteristic often leads them to distress, and most of the time, preoccupied by it.
In a study made in 2006, survey showed that 85 percent of female said that they are satisfied with their partners' size while 55 percent of the men admitted to feeling confident about their own penis size.
