Directed by Hwang Dong-Hyuk, "Miss Granny" follows a 70-year-old grandma, Oh Mal-Soon (Na), who magically ends up in the body of her 20-year-old self (Shim) in the wake of having her photo taken at a mysterious studio. Seeking to enjoy her second chance, she goes out to do what she wants and live her new life without regrets.

"Major Hollywood studios are paying attention to CJ's global moves because not even Hollywood studios have tried what we are doing - localizing one source into different versions for each country we are expanding into," CJ Entertainment's Head of Global Business Lim Myung-Kyun said in a statement obtained by Variety. "The unique strength of 'Miss Granny' is that it is being remade into two different versions to suit the sentiments of the two (African-American and Hispanic) communities. Both set a high value on family bonds."

"Miss Granny" has grossed $53.7 million from 865 admissions. It is the first movie to be recreated in eight different languages, Yonhap News Agency reported.

"Miss Granny" has already been remade for the Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese market under the title of "Sweet 20", "20 Once Again" and "Ayashii Kanojo" (Suspicious Girl), respectively. Another in Indonesia is currently in post-production with an intended release date in early 2017.
