Qualcomm has just teased the new OnePlus flagship smartphone possibly for 2017 after they posted an image of their Snapdragon mascot along with the OnePlus logo.
The tweet said that a new OnePlus smartphone is coming and is powered by their new Snapdragon 821 system-on-chip which is an upgrade over the current Snapdragon 820 SoC. Details have not yet been given and OnePlus themselves are silent about the tease.
OnePlus 3T was supposed to be the next smartphone and it could still be considering that the OnePlus 4 is rumored to pack the upcoming Snapdragon 830 and not the 821. Qualcomm teased fans with the tweet saying that a new OnePlus phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 821, Express.co.uk has learned.
"Something new from @OnePlus is on the way...and it's powered by our #Snapdragon 821 processor. Stay tuned," Qualcomm wrote on its tweet.
No more details have been given after the tweet. The RAM could still be as high as 4GB considering that other flagships today have the same capacity such as the LG V20.
In addition, the 821 would best be coupled with more RAM for a smoother and quicker UI experience. It could also get the Adreno 530 GPU or another better version once it is released.
OnePlus 3T is expected to be launched on November 14 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 tease is timely, Droid-Life reported. Leaked information also claims that the OnePlus 3T could have a new Sony IMX395 camera sensor on the rear and run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
OnePlus has not confirmed the rumors and speculations surrounding their new device. There is also the possibility that Qualcomm is just teasing the phone for next year which could be the OnePlus 4.
Fans will just have to wait and see whether there will be a new OnePlus 3T smartphone on November 14 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. More details expected to be revealed soon.
