Fans of Lee Seung-Gi are in for a treat. Comedian Lee Soo-Geun, 41, recently updated Seung-Gi's fans on his status in the military.
Despite the busy schedule, Soo-Geun, fellow comedian Yoo Se-Yoon, and singer Kim Heechul set aside a few minutes of their time to celebrate the 500th episode of MBC's "Radio Star" on Nov. 09, Wednesday. There, Soo-Geun revealed that he recently visited the "My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox" actor in the military.
"He's become a totally masculine soldier," Soo-Geun revealed, as cited by Soompi. "He's very disciplined according to the military rules. I did notice that he had a picture of AOA's Seolhyun hanging his locker."
It comes months after Seung-Gi was given the honor of singing the national anthem during a ceremony that marks the 61st anniversary of the Korean Memorial Day. Along with four other servicemen, the actor sang the national anthem to pay tributes to the men and women who died in military service during the Korean War (1950-1953).
In addition to Seung-Gi, actor Lee Seo-Jin also dedicated the poem titled "Rose of Sharon" to the nation's fallen heroes. Singer Gummy, 35, then performed the song "We Remember Them" along with a children's choir.
Seung-Gi, also known as the Ballad Prince, enlisted his two-year mandatory military service on Feb. 01 at Nonsan Army Recruit Training Center and completed a basic soldier training for six weeks. He was then assigned to Special Warfare Command and was tasked to carry out the rest of his two-year enlistment. He is expected to be discharged on Oct. 31, 2017.
Prior to his enlistment, Seung-Gi was dating Girls' Generation member Yoona. However, it was later reported in August 2015 that the pair decided to end their romance as their respective busy schedules keep getting in the way.
"Yoona and Lee Seung Gi have broken up," said an official for SM Entertainment at the time, according to local newsoutlet Star News, as cited by Drama Fever. "They have decided to stay on good terms."
