The results of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Elections surprised many people given Donald Trump's win. Recently, "The Voice" coach Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lawrence and former talk-show host Oprah Winfrey shared their thoughts about the new president-elect.
Many people were hoping that Hillary Clinton will assume the role of the U.S.' first female president. However, the politician conceded the race to Trump given the businessman's lead in the recently held 2016 elections.
With Trump's win, several of Clinton's celebrity supporters have expressed hopeful messages about the new president. Following the business mogul's first meeting with President Barack Obama, Winfrey shared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she felt comforted seeing the two gentlemen together.
Trump's statement where he conveyed his respect for the outgoing U.S. president, as well as Obama's comments about a peaceful transition made a positive impression on Winfrey. She stated, "It gave me hope ... I think everybody can take a deep breath ... now."
Apart from Winfrey, "Passengers" star Jennifer Lawrence also conveyed her thoughts about Trump's win. In a blog posted on Broadly, the actress shared an empowering message where she asked everyone to embody Clinton and become an inspiration to others.
Despite the fears and uncertainty over the incoming Trump administration's planned changes, Lawrence called for everyone to remain vigilant. She added, "If you are an immigrant, if you are a person of color, if you are LGBTQ+, if you are a woman-don't be afraid, be loud!"
Meanwhile, Cyrus was unable to control her emotions as she tearfully accepted Trump as the new U.S. president. In a video blog posted on Twitter, "The Voice" coach expressed her disappointment over Clinton's loss before highlighting the need to adjust and accept what happened during the elections.

The former Disney star also stated that she would rather be hopeful that everything will turn out okay given Trump’s win. Cyrus ended her video blog with a special message for the new president-elect, “Please just treat people with love … compassion and … with respect.”
