Motorola was acquired by Lenovo last year. A previous rumor that surfaced earlier this month suggested that all the upcoming smartphones from the company would carry Moto branding.
However, fresh information indicates Motorola will take up the designing and development for the next two upcoming devices of Moto Z (2017) and Moto G (2017). Like this year, the Moto Z (2017) is expected to arrive in Play, Droid, and Force versions whereas Moto G (2017) would be also coming in Play and Plus versions.
Moto X (2017), Moto M (2017) - Lenovo
What is surprising is that the Chinese firm is planning to bring back Moto X that was last seen in 2015..The Moto M that was introduced earlier this month is expected to arrive with upgraded specs next year.
By looking carefully at the recently released handset of Moto M, it can be seen that there is a Moto logo at the front, whereas the Lenovo name can be seen on the side of its box, Phone Arena reported. Hence, the Moto X (2017) and Moto M (2017) are expected to be designed and engineered by Lenovo
Moto C (2017), Moto E (2017) - Lenovo / ODM
The Moto C that can be seen on the list is a new line that is rumored to get introduced next year. The leaks show the Moto C (2017) and Moto E will be developed by Lenovo together with ODM (Original Device Manufacturer). Both the smartphones are expected to arrive as low-end smartphones.
Moto 360 (2017)
Even though Moto 360 is one of the best smartwatches available, it has not so popular among buyers. The leakster, +hellomotoHK has revealed that Motorola is likley to sell to the business or license the brand rights for smartwatches in 2017. Motorola has already sold its accessories business to Binatone in 2015. So, Motorola might sell Moto 360 business to the same company.
