"Food Wars: Shokugeki No Soma" Season 3 will air in 2017 and it will most likely reveal some surprising plot.
The second season of the beloved food anime concluded at the end of Stagiaire arc. The first year students of Totsuki academy are back in school. The new arc will explore the next stage of what will happen to aspiring chefs.
Based on the manga, there is a change in power in Totsuki Academy as Nakiri Senzaemon was forced out as headmaster of the school. He was voted out by the Elite Ten and will be replaced by Nakiri Erina's father Nakiri Azami. With six members of the Elite Ten voted him out, Senzaemon has no choice but to step down.
The next season will also reveal Erina's dark past. Senzaemon will seek Yukihira Soma's help to save his granddaughter from her father. When she was a kid, her talent of "God Tongue" has become apparent and her father, Azami, subjected her in a brutal regime forcing Erina to taste dishes and determine the errors in them. Azami even used force in his strict training.
Once Senzaemon found out about the abuse, he banished his son from the family and Totsuki and tried to repair the damage that has been done to Erina. However, the brutal training has developed Erina's haughty personality and extreme fear to her father.
It is unknown how many episodes that the Season 3 will have, but it is rumored that the third season will have around 12 episodes that are currently in the works. This is mainly because the anime caught up with the manga. No official air date has been announced yet. "Food Wars: Shokugeki No Souma" Season 3 will air in 2017, but no official air date has been announced yet.
