Rumors say Team Pangu is ready to finalize a jailbreak version of iOS 10 and will do so as soon as Apple releases the next big update of the mobile OS that powers the iPhone and iPad. When iOS 10.1 was issued, the expectations were high that the next jailbreaking tool will finally come out. But nothing happened.

And it's the same with the deployment of version 10.1.1 - Pangu maintained its radio silence. The last heard from the Chinese hacking team was months ago when Cydia was demoed running on the then unreleased iOS 10. It was teased then that right after the official version touches down, the jailbreak will soon follow.

But Team Pangu just went missing in action and speculations are rife that the exploits the hackers have been working on just disappeared in thin air following the string of patches released by Apple. And with the recent speed of OS updates that the tech giant is releasing - nearly every week - hopes are not too high for an actual iOS 10 jailbreak release.

Now it appears that iOS 10.2 is on the way as BGR reported that public beta 3 of the OS is now available for download by registered Apple developers. And the likelihood is, version 10.2 will arrive as early as next week.

Normally, that's good news for the jailbreak community as it could signal that Pangu or any other devs will finalize their jailbreak works, provided they have been working on something all along. And it's a fair expectation that iOS 10 can be jailbroken. There were proofs.

The latest of which came from Luca Todesco, when he showed off that both iOS 10.1 and 10.1.1 running on iPhone 7 can be cracked. Earlier, iH8Sn0w proved that the mobile OS can be pried open and Pangu followed thorough with the Cydia demonstration.

But even as iOS 10.2 will most likely touchdown in the coming days, an iOS 10 jailbreak release remains a big question mark. The only faint hope of such a possibility was offered by Cydia creator Saurik. The dev recently hinted that Team Pangu is hard at work in completing a jailbreak and that only the group has the credibility to provide a JB tool soon.

Saurik, however, like Team Pangu was at best vague on the timing of the actual iOS 10 jailbreak release date.
