Taiwanese tech company's HTC Vive is now dubbed as the most immersive VR Headset this year and now there are reports claiming that it will finally go wireless in the near future.
The HTC Vive is considered the most luxurious option in the current virtual reality headset line-up next to the Oculus Rift, PC Advisor has learned. This device beats the £500 Oculus Rift and £300 PlayStation VR according to some reviews.
However, all of the VR headsets are still expensive at the moment because they are the first batch. The HTC Vive delivers by giving its users with the chance to not only look around the virtual environment but physically walk around and interact with the environment using bespoke handheld controllers.
TPCast had promised deliver a tether-less VR upgrade kit, Wired reported. All the cables and wires can hinder the player from fully enjoying the VR experience because of the limited length and rotation they can use.
The TPCAST's kit was created under the Vive X Accelerator program, and it was revealed at Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba's 11/11 shopping event. The date marks Singles Day, which is a day intended to celebrate people's pride in being single. This event has also become China's answer to Black Friday.
Moreover, Alvin W. Graylin, China Regional President of Vive has stated that they are grateful for the support teams and third-party companies that create accessories and peripherals for their device. The HTC Vive is favored by most gamers because it already has its own controllers.
"The fact this was developed in such a short time, and delivers such high quality is remarkable. It will allow Vive customers worldwide to gain untethered mobility in VR from their existing devices, while satisfying the biggest feature request of potential PC VR customers," said Graylin.
The HTC Vive will be in special deals during the Black Friday event this year. Meanwhile, the TPCAST add-on is now being sold as a 'preview edition' but they promised Vive owners that the wireless kit will come soon although no release date was announced from both them and from HTC themselves who made the device.
