German automaker Daimler AG has showcased the latest in the Mercedes-Maybach line at the Los Angeles Autoshow. Called the 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet, it promises exclusivity, given its price tag and limited number of units to be sold.
According to Bloomberg, the four-seater convertible costs $323,000, more expensive than the Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible, priced at $267,000, but a tad less pricey than the Rolls-Royce Dawn, which costs $335,000. It also costs more than the Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan, priced at $192,000 but less than the Mercdes-Maybach Pullman, which has a $1 million price tag.

Under the hood of the 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet is a 6.0-liter twin turbo V12 engine matched with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Motor Authority reported that the convertible boasts 621 horsepower and Top Gear rated the brake horsepower at 625. It generates 738 pound-feet of torque and can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds with a limited top speed of 155 miles per hour.
The interior of the car has been described as having nautical themes, reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz 460-Granturismo yacht. Because there will only 300 units of this model, there are chrome-plated letterings in the steering wheel, the cup holders, and elsewhere saying "1 of 300."
Only 75 units will be available in the United States, the other 225 to be sold in other countries. Buyers in the U.S. can select from three color combinations: Designo Diamond White with a dark blue top and a porcelain and yacht-blue interior; Zircon Red with a black top and a white and black interior; and Cote d'Azur Blue with a beige top and a white and saddle brown interior.
The car comes with a four-piece Maybach luggage set with the same leather as the interior, a car cover in the same color as the top, and a key fob in porcelain leather. Moreover, a certificate will be issued to buyers, signed by Daimler chairman Dr. Dieter Zetsche.
