Ji Chang-Wook, 29, shared about what happened when he and Girls' Generation Yoona shot their first kiss scene for "The K2." The two portrayed Kim Je-Ha and Go Anna, respectively.
In a recent interview, Ji revealed the kiss scene that was aired near "The K2" ending was actually taken during the early stage of filming in Barcelona, Spain. He stressed that the kiss scene helped him and the Girls' Generation member become close with each other.
"I was perplexed to hear that I would be performing the (kiss) scene on arriving at the airport," Ji added, as cited by The Kpop Herald. "I was under pressure. We had to get closer with one another."
Sharing about their perspective on how they lived their lives, respective hobbies, and even non-sensical life philosophies were also vital for becoming close. Ji also talked about Yoona's acting, revealing he had not watched any series featuring the singer-turned-actress.
"She's a member of Girls' Generation, and idol-turned-actors tend to be met with a certain prejudice," said Ji. "When we met for the first time as partners, I tried my best to avoid seeing her through a certain lens. I saw her as my partner, my co-star. Because I didn't see any of her previous works, I was able to do that. I just saw her as Anna and YoonA."
It came after the on-screen couple gave out a coffee treat to around 100 viewers in Gangnam District, Southern Seoul on Nov. 11. It was held in celebration of the tvN drama surpassing the 5 percent rating mark.
In the behind-the-scenes clip via Naver TV, Ji called the 16-episode drama as the beginning of another phase of his career. Yoona, on the other hand, described the show as a stepping stone for her acting career.
