Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller's twin sons are safe and sound after being reported missing. Salt Lake City police attempted to locate Mueller and the seven-year-old twins, Bob and Max, after receiving a disturbance call that raised concerns about the children's well-being.
On Nov. 16, Wednesday, Mueller showed up at a Salt Lake City bar with the kids and nanny in tow, according to TMZ. Sheen's former wife entered the establishment barefoot and was described as looking "disheveled" as she tried to bum a cigarette from a fellow patron.
Mueller, 39, reportedly also got into an altercation with the nanny, prompting someone to call the police. However, Mueller and the children took off before cops arrived at the scene, after which the disturbance call turned into a welfare check.
"On the morning of November 16, dispatchers with the Utah Department of Public Safety [UDPS] received a welfare check call from a woman claiming to be the mother of Brooke Mueller," the UDPS said in a statement obtained by US Weekly. "Troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol responded to the welfare check call and located Mueller, her two children and a nanny on Interstate 15 near Nephi, Utah."
The children are safe and will be handed over to a family member while Mueller was admitted to a local hospital for evaluation. The State Bureau of Investigation has also opened an investigation into the incident.
"I'm just trying to get my kids home safe," Sheen told TMZ, when asked about the incident. "I have no other details that relate to the ongoing event."
The "Two and a Half Men" star and Mueller called it quits in 2010 after being married for two years. Mueller moved to Utah earlier this year to check herself into rehab and has continued living there for outpatient rehabilitation therapy. She has a history of substance abuse issues and has entered herself into rehab nearly 20 times.
