Watching an episode of "Westworld" is more about experiencing the new viral trend Mannequin Challenge. The show has been on the air for seven weeks now, but following the popularity of the internet's latest meme, the viewers cannot ignore the startling similarity between the two.
As it is now popularly known, the Mannequin Challenge essentially asks participants to stay in one position, completely frozen, for a certain amount of time. If the participant moves even a little bit, the challenge is lost.
In the thriller TV series, whenever the engineers or design team need to examine or fix something in the park, they pause the entire world. As they go about their business, the hosts become standstill in time, reminding the viewers of the trending online challenge.
Some fans wasted no time comparing the meme and the show in social media. They called out the hosts in the latest episode of the show for their dedication towards perfecting the act of being still.

Mannequin Challenge has also hit Tinseltown. Among the latest celebrities who undertook the challenge is Adele.
Although the challenge was started by a bunch of high school students in Florida involving holding poses for a short video with the song "Black Beatles," the singer jumped on the bandwagon with her own creative "Westworld" themed challenge. Her attempt involved a pianist, barmen and line-dancers while Johnny Cash's "Man In Black,"a song that incidentally shares its name with Ed Harris' "Westworld" character, played in the background.
Other celebrities to have taken on the viral challenge are the newly reunited Destiny's Child, who did a Playtime scene at Kelly Rowland's son's 2nd birthday party. They chose the song "Every Ghetto Every City' by Lauryn Hill for their background music.
Mannequin Challenge is seemingly this year's harmless, non-dangerous and no charity version of Ice Bucket challenge. Also known as musical statues and freeze dance, the challenge comes as a breather amidst the busyness of everyday life.
