The Undertaker returned to SmackDown Live and WWE television after a seven-month absence. The latest rumors suggest that he will be appearing on a more regular basis which means he will not be retiring at WrestleMania 33.
The 51-year-old living legend warned Team SmackDown last Tuesday that they should not let the whole blue brand down. Whoever makes the bad decision to screw the team out of the win on Sunday at Survivor Series will get the wrath of The Deadman.
According to Cageside Seats, The Undertaker is expected to have a more regular role on SmackDown Live. He will feud either feud with The Wyatt Family or A.J. Styles at the end of the year and possibly have a match at the Royal Rumble.
There are a lot of different reports stating the plan for The Undertaker with one being a WWE World Championship Match against Styles. He is rumored to be winning that match and the title while John Cena winning the Rumble so that they can face off at WrestleMania 33.
The other one is The Undertaker vs. The Wyatt Family with Kane helping his kayfabe brother in the feud. It will lead to a match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 33. The WWE reportedly wants a veteran to face The Deadman so that there is no added risk of injury.
Before his appearance this past Tuesday, there were a lot of rumors saying that The Undertaker retired at WrestleMania 32. However, all of that has been put to rest but now, many are speculating that it will happen at WrestleMania 33.
But Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required) reported that The Undertaker is scheduled to work more than just WrestleMania 33. The future WWE Hall of Famer recently underwent hip surgery so that he can prolong his illustrious career.
"There was a lot of buzz, as far as Undertaker went, and questions about what he meant and everything. It sounds like he's gonna be on television more often. He's not going to be a regular, or go on the road or anything like that. But, we'll see. It's not like he's booked anywhere else at the present time. The impression is that he's gonna do more than just WrestleMania," Meltzer noted.
Nevertheless, these are just purely speculative at the moment. The Undertaker has a lot of wear and tear on his body which means he is getting closer to officially hanging up his gloves and boots. Check out the video below to see The Undertaker's return to WWE television after a seven-month absence.
