Roman Reigns is thriving in his role as the United States champion and he might be staying in the upper midcard much longer. According to the latest rumors, Reigns' feud for WrestleMania 33 is against an unlikely opponent.
The Big Dog was demoted to the midcards after failing a WWE Wellness Test while he was the WWE World champion. It led to many clean pinfall losses, something that was very rare during his WWE career.
However, it was the best decision the WWE has ever done. Reigns is slowly getting cheered by the crowd and it is only a matter of time before he goes over. His next feud is against Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship, per Wrestling Inc.
The two superstars are rumored to be facing each other at the Roadblock pay-per-view on December 18 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. But it looks like Reigns will lose to Owens and he is going to move on to a whole new feud for WrestleMania 33.
According to Cageside Seats, the current plan for Reigns is to face Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 33. It is an unlikely matchup but it could help Reigns get over. But it can also cement Strowman as the next big things in the WWE.
The WWE has been rumored to be high on the former Wyatt Family member due to his size. He is in line for big singles push later this year and he is expected to face The Big Show. The WWE could always put Strowman vs. Show at WrestleMania 33 but the 7-foot giant is already scheduled to face Shaquille O'Neal.
Nevertheless, Strowman has vastly improved in the ring after several months of working with jobbers. He worked with many veterans in live events that helped his in-ring ability. He is more than just shouting, grunting and clothesline.
Off the camera, Strowman has a great personality just like Rusev. The internet wrestling community has started to like the former strongman competitor that could spell badly for Reigns. Vince McMahon will have a difficult time deciding the outcome of Reigns vs. Strowman.
However, it should be noted that these are just rumors at the moment and nothing has been confirmed. The WWE tends to change their plans on a regular basis, especially heading to a big event where there is more attention to their product.
