Atletico Madrid snapped a two-game losing skid with a convincing 3-0 road victory over bottom-three squad Osasuna at the El Sadar Stadium on Sunday, as per Daily Mail Online.

Team captain Diego Godin and French striker Kevin Gameiro scored one goal each in the 36th and 37th minutes of the first half to give Los Colchoneros the momentum. Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco, who substituted for Angel Correa in the 66th minute, sealed the game right at the stroke of full-time to complete the team's three-goal masterpiece.

The win lifted Atleti to the fourth spot of the current league table after Villarreal lost two games in a row. Head coach Diego Simeone's side is now three points behind second and third-place teams Barcelona and Sevilla while they are also nine points below league leaders Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Espanyol extended their unbeaten streak to seven games as they crushed newly-promoted side Leganes, 3-0, at their home stadium of Estadi Cornellà-El Prat last Saturday, Football España reported.

After a goalless first half of play, Spanish striker Gerard Moreno broke the deadlock two minutes after the restart with a left-footed shot from the left side of the six-yard box with the assist coming from Argentine winger Pablo Piatti.

Piatti then took over the game with a brace in the 51st and 88th minutes to prevent any comeback attempts from Leganes during the match.

With the win, head coach Quique Sánchez Flores' squad moved up to the 11th spot of the league table, nine points above the bottom three relegation zone and only four points below sixth-place team Villarreal who is temporarily occupying the final Europa League qualifying berth for next season.
