The latest details for "Overwatch" will feature four characters in Santa Claus skins and the Oasis map gameplay teased.
Blizzard Entertainment will likely announce a Christmas themed event for "Overwatch" this month as leaked game features will introduced a new game mode called "Arena" and possible Christmas related items and loots such as skins, voice lines, spray paint etc.
Four characters from "Overwatch" will likely get a Santa Claus themed skins within the game and these characters are Reinhardt, Torbjorn, Roadhog and Winston, Game Revolution reported. It was during December 2014 that an image of Torbjorn was posted on the internet wearing a Santa Clause outfit prior to the game's announcement and release.
Roadhog was chosen as a likely Santa due to his overweight appearance, white hair and he may sport a Candy Cane like hook. Reinhardt is also hinted to having a Santa skin due to the character's jovial personality showing enthusiasm and a thirst for justice.
Lastly, Winston could be a candidate for the Santa skin and gamers would want to see an angry gorilla running wild in a Santa outfit during the game matches.
NeoGaf username Nirolak was responsible for data mining the Christmas event in "Overwatch" due to the numerous audio files of characters talking about the holidays.
In other news, Blizzard showcased the Oasis map in"Overwatch" during the game's PTR event and gamers can now test it on the PC platform.
"Oasis" is the second map that Blizzard developed for "Overwatch" along with Eco-point Antartica. Oasis is depicted as a high tech city in the Arabian desert.
In addition, a new threat has been seen in the Oasis map in the form of fast moving cars as players can be killed instantly when they get hit. "Overwatch" players who want to stay alive during a match are advised to look both ways before crossing the street. Also unique to this map are jump pads, which may help maneuvering around the map to avoid an unfortunate traffic fatality.
Blizzard may release the Oasis map in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions sometime in December. Polygon reported.
Previous reports hinted that more "Overwatch" characters could be added to the roster soon and these are Athena, Liao and Doomfist. Doomfist is hinted to join "Overwatch" and was featured in the first animated short of the game. According to former "Overwatch" story teller Chris Metzen, Doomfist is a generational character all using the same super-powered gauntlets for both heroics and villainy.
Three characters who have used Doomfist have been featured in "Overwatch", with two characters being named Savior and Scourge, while the other is called the Successor, in this case the next person to adopt the mantle of Doomfist and possibly a future DLC character soon.
Athena will be sporting an Omnic body with a female shape, single eye and a logo of her name on her head. She will likely be a support character.
Liao in the game is a founding member of the Overwatch team along with along with Jack Morrison/Soldier:76, Gabriel Reyes/Reaper, Ana Amari, Torbjorn and Reinhardt. Several fan speculations revealed that Liao may have a connection with the team's climatologist and current playable character Mei-Ling Zhou.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
