December is officially here and now all eyes are on Pangu. The Chinese hacking group is rumored to have an iOS 10 jailbreak in tow and ready for roll out. Among the features of the alleged iOS 10 jailbreak include new functionalities and will be open source.
The word out is that the iOS 10 jailbreak will be coming out once Apple releases iOS 10.2. The next Apple mobile operating system is in its fourth beta and is expected to be deployed anytime this December, 9to5Mac reported.
Once that happens, Pangu will be further pressed to come out with their long-awaited iOS 10 jailbreak though the part of making it open source has drawn varying opinions. Such gives an impression of a half-baked Apple crack while others consider the move as added flexibility to combat Apple’s frequent iOS updates.
iOS 10 has been plagued by problems tied up to compatibility and security issues the past months. Despite these flaws, Pangu, and other hacker groups have failed to come out with a working iOS jailbreak. The last working jailbreak was iOS 9.3.3.
The buggy nature of the iOS 10 has forced Apple to release subsequent updates to address the operating system hiccups. Right now, the latest issue is tied up to iOS 10.1.1 which involves seeing Apple devices shutting down once batteries reach the 30 percent level, Phone Arena reported.
Given that yet another problem has cropped for the iOS 10 series, Apple may inadvertently fast-track and roll out iOS 10.2 soon. Once that happens, Pangu will once again be in the limelight as it tries to affirm that they do have an iOS 10 jailbreak under their wing.
Once Pangu makes the alleged iOS 10 jailbreak public, it won’t come as a surprise if Apple releases a patch to address discovered breaches. But the twist comes in the open source angle of the iOS 10 jailbreak, hinting that Pangu or other aspiring hackers could tinker with the jailbreaking tool.
This way, they can find other loopholes or ways to make the iOS 10 jailbreak useful even with Apple rolling out their patches. Check out the video below shedding more light on the iOS 10.2.
