If reports are anything to go by, Huawei P9 and Huawei Mate 8 will get Android 7.0 N update in January 2017.
Huawei has declared that it will begin pushing out the newest Android 7.0 Nougat update early next year.
The Chinese smartphone maker will bring its new EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat in the Q1 of next year, GSMArena reported.
It is believed that the latest firmware will come to the Huawei P9 and Huawei Mate 8 first before expanding to Huawei nova Plus, Huawei nova, Huawei P9 lite and Huawei P9 Plus.
The Huawei P9 and Huawei Mate 8 may get the latest OS as early as January next year or before the end of March.
LG, Sony and Motorola are the only Original Equipment Manufacturers that have seeded the new firmware to their devices after the search giant Google rolled out the Android N update to the Android One, Pixel C, Nexus Player, Nexus 9, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6 a few of months ago.
The new firmware comes with features such as App switch, Improved file browser, bundled notifications, Google Assistant, multi-window, new emojis, Clear All, direct reply notifications, Instant Apps, extra power efficiency, improved Java 8 language support, VR interface, Data saver, seamless updates and screen Zoom, Forbes reported.
Meanwhile, the mobile carrier U.S. Cellular has revealed that the Android 7.0 N update is currently available to the LG G5 smartphone.
Users of LG G5 should begin getting notifications that the latest update is available to their devices now. The file size is over 1.5 GB.
Some owners should be receiving their notifications and some owners have to wait for a few days.
Users can also check if a manual update is possible. They should go to the Settings menu and let their phone scan for any available software.
If no over-the-air firmware has reached their handset, they can go to LG's website and download the Android Nougat software build if it is available in their location.
This will require them to install a USB driver on their personal computer so that they can connect their device and download the software through the LG Mobile Support Tool.
Owners have to ensure that they have full battery to avoid installation interruption when installing the update.
