The much-anticipated battle between Erza and Spriggan 12's strongest mage Irene Berseroin has finally begun, and as expected, it's a personal showdown that reveals a lot about the identity of Fairy Tail's red-hair warrior and her foe, the Scarlet Dispair.
Spoilers for Chapter 513: Flower!
-Irene finally revealed what everybody thought about her persona. She's none other than Erza's mother, the one who gave birth to her. Erza was caught unprepared by Irene's revelation.
Erza thought all her life that she had no parents. After all, she was a lone orphan child in Rosemary village to start with. And if there's one person whom she considered like a parent that would be Fairy Tail master Makarov.
-Erza's battle with Irene continues to heat up. Although she's able to hold her ground against the Spriggan 12 mage, it's clear that Irene is much superior mage.
Irene stresses that it doesn't matter to her whether or not Erza believes in her claim, because she thought her child died a long time ago. What she only wants is for Erza to know who really is she and where she came from.
"Wouldn't it be inconvenient to die without even knowing where you came from. Let's talk about the past a bit," Irene to Erza as she teases to reveal the past.
-Irene then properly introduces herself, saying "My name is Irene Berserion, I was once the Queen of the Dragons." The chapter closes with this text: Erza's secret crosses time and space!
Prediction for Chapter 514: Origin of Dragons
As what the title of the next chapter suggests, Fairy Tail's next issue will reveal the history and origin of the Dragons. It will also answer why Irene was considered the Queen of Dragons along with Erza's shrouded past.
After all the revelations dropped by Hiro Mashima on this chapter, it's easy to tell where the story is going. Soon, the manga series will reveal about Erza and the actual timeline of her birth. And by the look of it, it appears she was born hundreds of years before Natsu and the other Dragon Slayers existed.
