In one particular scene, Ragnar talks to Floki before he leaves for England. He tells Floki that he loves him, and it is something Floki has longed to hear from Ragnar, especially after everything he has done for the main hero. Before Rangar leaves, Floki replied that he loves Ragnar as well.

According to EW, Floki will be going through a "very deep and profound changes" in "Vikings" Season 4B. Floki will reimagine his whole life and this will lead to extraordinary outcomes. Hearing Ragnar tell him that he loves him is a huge moment for Floki, and it is part of a big thread in the story as it moves forward.

In Episode 11, Ragnar also visits Lagertha during which he asks for forgiveness for everything he has done. He even tells her how much he regrets letting her go. They seal their conversation with a kiss.

In "Vikings" Season 4B, Lagertha finds love in a woman named Astrid. After her failed relationship with men and having been betrayed by men all throughout her life, Lagertha does not want to be in a relationship with another man. Instead, she finds comfort in another woman. Astrid is a woman Lagertha is able to trust, and after everything that she has been through, trust is very important to Lagertha.

Perhaps one of the most highly-awaited aspects of "Vikings" Season 4B is the debut of Ragnar's sons. It is speculated that Ragnar's sons will succeed him and that he will retire quietly or he will be killed as the season moves on.

"His sons have grown up with a sense, in some ways, of privilege. A dynamic will come into play: How the Vikings, in their newly empowered state, react to other cultures," creator Michael Hirst tells EW. "Are they gonna follow Ragnar's vision, which is settlement abroad, finding rich arable land for other people? Are they going to follow Ivar's vision of Viking life, to be successful warriors, raiders, and armies?"
