Those who are waiting for the comeback of Chan Sung Jung inside the Octagon, Super Bowl Weekend will be the event to watch the "Korean Zombie" show his wares again in the UFC.
In a report by MMA Fighting, multiple sources said that the world famous mixed martial arts promotion is scheduling a possible fight between Jung against Dennis Bermudez as the main event of the Feb. 4 Fight Night show in Houston.
"The Korean Zombie" has been away from the Octagon for more than three years after losing against Jose Aldo in their featherweight title fight in UFC 163 in Brazil. Jung, who replaced an injured Anthony Pettis in the fight, was defeated in the way of a technical knockout by Aldo in the fourth round.
Jung was scheduled to face Akira Corassani on UFC Fight Night 54 last October 4, 2014 but pulled out because of injury. Since then, Jung has been away from the UFC after serving two years to complete his mandatory military service for South Korean male citizens.
Jung has been one of the most exciting fighters in the featherweight division having tied the fastest knockout in UFC history held by Todd Duffee and Ryan Jimmo with just seven seconds into the fight. He also won Submission of the Year in 2012 after beating Dustin Poirier.
Jung's first bout in three years, which has been confirmed as per Fox Sports, will have tickets for sale starting Jan. 6.
Bermudez, meanwhile, is on a two-fight winning streak after a unanimous decision win over Rony Jason in UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Caceres last August. He has a 9-11 record in the UFC.
The co-main events will see Alexa Grasso face Felice Herrig, Evan Dunham clash with Abel Trujillo, Ovince Saint Preux lock horns with Jan Blachowicz, Justin Ledet take on Dmitry Sosnovskiy, Curtis Blaydes duel it out with Adam Milstead, Johnny Case fight James Vick and Chris Gruetzemacher battle Chas Skelly.
