The long-awaited second season of the "Attack on Titan" anime finally has a release window, and fans will only have to wait for a few more months before it airs.
According to the Anime News Network, "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will start airing in April 2017. The information was reportedly revealed in the wraparound jacket band of the 21st volume of the "Attack on Titan" manga.
Fans have undoubtedly been waiting for this news as it has been years since "Attack on Titan" Season 1 was aired. It was shown in Japan from April to September 2013. At the time, it was also streamed online on Funimation and Crunchyroll. The English version was aired from May to November 2014 on the Toonami block on Adult Swim, and was subsequently aired in other countries.
Moreover, fans of the franchise have another "AoT" offering to look forward to - a stage play adaptation, which will be shown next summer. According the same publication, the announcement, which was also on the wraparound jacket band "Attack on Titan" Volume 21, promises fans that they will see the soldiers, the Titans, as well as the battle in a way that has not yet been seen before.
The "Attack on Titan" manga, serialized on Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine since September 2009, has already inspired several projects. Apart from the anime and the upcoming stage play, it also gave rise to two light novel series called "Attack on Titan: Before the Fall" and "Attack on Titan: Harsh Mistress of the City" as well as a three-story novel titled "Attack on Titan: Lost Girls."
There are several OVA episodes, a two-part animated film, which is a compilation of the anime television series, as well as manga spinoffs, several video games, a two-part live-action movie, and a live-action mini-series.
