AMD is set to release the Zen processors in 2017 but the chipsets are expected to be rolled out sooner. The AM4 X370 chipset could be revealed on Dec. 13.

Since the AMD Zen will be a new architecture, it would be appropriate that the company would introduce new compatible chipsets as well. The company is expected to release three different chipsets for the new processor. One of those is the high-end X370 which is expected to be revealed in the rumored event.

The AM4 X370 chipset is the top-end choice for the AMD Zen processors in 2017, Hot Hardware reported. It would support the basic AM4 standards of USB 3.1 gen 2, SATA Express, PCIe 3.0 and DDR4 for the RAM. DDR4 RAM is claimed to be more power-efficient than the previous standards which makes it a good choice for upgrading.

AMD is expected to unveil the rest of the AM4 motherboards such as the A320 and the B350. The former will be the entry level option while the latter is the mid-tier probably the best choice for budget gamers.

In addition to the expected AM4 X370 motherboard, AMD has also reportedly filed five trademarks regarding to the Zen architecture and artificial intelligence. RyZen is one of the most obvious trademarks related to the new processors architecture and it could be one of the new names, WCCF Tech reported.

The other trademarks include ThreadRipper, Jitzu, Gork and Joro. AMD has not yet announced what they will be doing with the said trademarks. They could be incorporating an AI program inside the Zen processors which could be a game changer in the competition against Intel's Core processors.

AMD Zen is expected to take on Intel's processors with more efficient chips and possibly cheaper price tags. Fans can wait for the official event or at CES 2017 to see the full Zen offerings along with the AM4 chipsets.
