Blackberry Mercury has gone beyond being blind concept as a photo was leaked online. Together with the leaked image of BB Mercury, potential specs of the mobile phone then proliferated on the web.
For almost a year, smartphone enthusiasts have been searching for any information of the potential specs and photo of the rumored last in-house QWERTY device by Canadian-based multinational wireless telecommunications software and mobile hardware company. Subsequently, after months of wait, an alleged leaked photo of the device surfaced online.
As per Crackberry, the alleged image of BB Mercury first appeared on Weibo. However, the website did not affirm the authenticity of the post, for the leaker has no previous history of having share any previous BlackBerry images. Needless to say that such alleged image of BB Mercury should be taken with a grain of salt.
Similar thing should be done when taking into consideration the recent unaccounted release of the possible specs of the upcoming Blackberry QWERTY device. GSM Arena detailed that the potential BB Mercury comes along with a 3GB of RAM, 2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm processor, and complemented with a Android 7.0 Nougat. The system on chip or SoC could also be the mid-range Snapdragon 625 based on the CPU core count and clock speed.
That being said, it would be better to go back to the previous leaked released by Evan Blass, who already have a solid reputation for leaks. The alleged photo leaked online should not necessarily convince consumers easily, although it might still be the prototype of the much-anticipated BlackBerry Mercury.
As a final point, perhaps the biggest question aside from the authenticity of these leaks, would be the interest of consumers for the Blackberry QWERTY device. Following the dominance of keyboardless phones, Blackberry's last in-house QWERTY mobile device is surely a bold decision of the company.
