If reports are anything to go by, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S7 will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update later.
Recently, the tech giant Samsung has allowed users of Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 enrolled in the beta program to try out Android 7.0 N before the official build rolls out.
The official Nougat build will hit the devices before the end of this year once the beta trial concludes.
However, the mobile carrier Verizon has confirmed that these devices will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update later, in early 2017.
According to reports, Verizon will remain on the original software for the remainder of the trial. Beta trial users will be upgraded to the Android 7.0 Nougat build rolling out in 2017.
The mobile carrier is no longer endorsing the Beta Program on the above mentioned devices. According to Android Authority, Verizon consumers will not be eligible for future beta releases of Android Nougat for the Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 moving forward.
SamMobile reported that for beta testers under the carrier Verizon, the course of action is to stay in the present beta version of Nougat or leave the program and revert to Android 6.0 M.
According to Samsung, people who choose to stay seated in the device's beta trial will receive Android 7.0 Nougat.
The exact reason behind the delay is not known. In the past, Verizon and Samsung have not seen eye to eye several times.
For example, take the Samsung Galaxy S5, where Verizon consumers were denied the Download Booster feature till an update added it back.
The feature lets the Galaxy handsets to download files over 30 MB in size quicker through mobile data and Wi-Fi connection simultaneously.
Initially, the Write on PDF feature was not made available on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. With the now-canceled Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the Cloud Storage feature was hidden and owners needed to use an app shortcut to have it situated within the software.
Users of non-Verizon Galaxy S7 edge and S7 devices should not worry about their Android 7.0 Nougat update as long as they have the Galaxy Beta Program app installed on their device and have an active Samsung account.
Meanwhile. according to latest reports, Moto Deutschland has said that many devices will receive a taste of Android 7.0 N in December.
