"Pokémon Go" fans can now dispose their dozens of unwanted pocket monsters in a few easy steps. This is one of the new features of the latest update, versions 0.49.1 for Android and 1.19.1 for iOS devices.
Starting with the latest update, multiple number of Pokémon can now be transferred to Professor Willow in exchange for candies. Trainers need to tap those Pokémon that they want to discard, as stated on the official update announcement.
Pidgey and Ratta are just two of the most common pocket monsters in the game and trainers who regularly play the game are likely to have a number of these already. Instead of letting them consume space, players transfer them to the Professor and are paid with candy, which can then be used evolve these Pokémon to their other forms. The previous transfer process was so tedious that players simply let them collect dust in their inventory.
However, before attempting to use the newly added feature, trainers are advised to add their most precious and hard-earned Pokémon into their favorites. The updated tool will not take effect on the selected few. Pocket monsters that are also assigned to the gyms and the selected Buddy are also protected from getting transferred, CNET reported.
Once the precious characters are safe, press and hold on a Pokémon until a green square background appears on the character, then select more of them. Once the selection process is finished, tap the Transfer button at the lower portion of the screen and tap Yes to confirm the action. One candy will be received for each Pokémon transferred.
Meanwhile, the latest patch also added Pokémon-type icons to the Gym battle screen. Niantic also updated the Buddy information screen by placing a total Candy counter as well as the total distance counter. Minor text fixes were also included.
Furthermore, on another announcement from the studio, Starbucks is now an official partner of "Pokémon GO" and will now transform its 7,800 company-operated stores in the United States into PokéStops and Gyms. This is to encourage more players to play the game while enjoying their favorite Starbucks food and beverage.
"Pokémon GO" is available for Android and iOS devices.
